Why is the Leaning Tower of Pisa leaning?

Long ago, beasts called Goblogorgans inhabited the tower. As they grew bigger and began to populate, the tower couldn't support them anymore, and tilted to the side. Now, the tower is long abandoned and the next target for Goblogorgans is the Empire State Building.
